22/9 10:00 – 17:15, 15.2 km, 27,636 steps, TA 510m.

 

Laoyehmaio - Beigoucun

 

Decided to take the day easier and started at Laoyehmiao – sounds familiar and the starting point even more so, but AL insisted that we hadn’t done this last year. Anyway, it was new for JK and it turned out to be quite a good hike. Exited at an apple orchard and the 2 boys were happily plucking and eating the juicy fruit.

 

Suddenly a screeching shout blasted out of the foliage above the orchard and we were chastised for “taking the apples without permission”. And as usual, Uncle Hin had to apologise profusely for the naughty boys. We then came out to the familiar shrine sprouting clear clean spring water. Quickly left the orchard and walked to Beigoucun, had our can of beer and gratefully picked up by CH.

 

23/9 Enforced rest due to rain the whole day. Spent the day wandering Miyun but were happy for the break. Had a good dinner and went to bed early. And Happy birthday to Junji.
